Catch-22

For the project we are doing in Mr. Thompson's class, I found Catch-22 quite interesting to read, especially Yossarian's role in the book. It almost seems the whole book is based upon the meaning of the phrase Catch-22. Basically you're doomed if you do, you're doomed if you don't. So there seems to be no way to get past the catch. In Yossarian's case, hes trying to get grounded by claiming he's insane, but by claiming he's insane, it proves that he's sane enough to know that he's insane, therefore not insane at all. Thus leading to why he can't be pulled away from the war to avoid getting killed. If you ask me, I find this very messed up for someone who risks their life everyday and yet has no choice to fight until he dies, or break the Catch-22.
